Great program, but lousy design!
The program featuring music, narration, and film was excellent. Anthony Daniels was delightful as the narrator, and the orchestra and choir did an outstanding job of bringing John Williams' music to life. However, I was dismayed by the speaker columns obstructing the movie screen view on both sides of the stage. My front-row seats on the third level left me completely disgusted as every scene on the screen was marred by the obstruction. Despite not having top price seating, I feel that the designers of the program really missed the mark, especially since the movie screen was a key selling point. The speaker arrangement should have been placed to allow unobstructed viewing of the screen. I do appreciate the assistance from the Ford Center staff. During intermission, I raised my concerns, and they provided alternative seating that was much better. For future attendees, I strongly recommend purchasing seats on the lower levels or directly in front of the stage to avoid disappointment.
